Let’s get to know 4 types of Cataract

How many type of cataracts, and how are they different?

The term "must" is a general term for the eye, so when it is said that it is a disease, it is important to clearly identify the most common types of Cataract and should be known in ascending order of severity:

1. Pinguecular:
   White or yellowish-white membranes on the sclera next to the black eye, caused by prolonged exposure to conjunctiva such as wind, dust, and sunlight. It often causes eye irritation. It does not cause blind.
   
   
2. Pterygium:
   This is an ongoing disease caused by Pinguecular, but the conjunctiva spreads into the cornea, resembling reddish-white tissue in the cornea, the top of the eye or the outer corner of the eye.  This is caused by many years of irritants, causing eye irritation and redness in the pterygium area when irritated. It does not cause blind.
   
   
3. Cataract :
   Is a clouding disease of the lens in the eyeball, causing the vision to look like fog or white smoke.  It is most often caused by age-related deterioration of the intraocular lens, but it can be congenital or after an accident to the eye.  It often causes the eyes to become blurred so that they may eventually become invisible if left untreated.
   
   
4. Glaucoma :
   Is a disease characterized by high intraocular pressure from the abnormally little aqueous drainage, causing the eyeball to become stiff until the optic disc is depressed, causing damage to the visual field. Vision until completely blindness is possible.
   

As for other Cataract diseases called by local language such as Tor Lin Mha is Pterygium, or Tor Lum Yai is Glaucoma

Pinguecula caused by wind, can wearing glasses prevent disease?
Irritants that cause Pinguecula can be from wind, dust, or bright sunlight, which, in addition to being the cause of epileptic disease, can also make people who have already had Pinguecula with increased eye irritation and progression of the wind when exposed to such irritants. The glasses usually protect the wind only from the front.  It is insufficient to protect against wind, dust and sunlight.  Therefore, the best advice is that the patient should try to avoid areas where there is wind, dust or strong sunlight. It will be more beneficial.

Pterygium is caused by eating meat.  Should I really skip meat after peeling Pterygium?
Pterygium is caused by deterioration of the conjunctiva of the black eye from exposure to irritants such as wind, dust, sunlight. Although it looks like a lump but is not related to a meat diet and a post-meal diet.  Eating meat foods after pterygoid peeling does not cause ulcers, inflammation or new pterygium.

Do everyone have a chance to have cataracts?
Cataract is caused by deterioration of the lens of the cornea, making the lens of the cornea, which should be clear, white or more brownish-white. As all human beings get older, deterioration of the lens of every eye will occur.  As the clouding of the lens of the eye grows more and more, blurred vision is known as cataract.  Therefore, every human being will definitely have a cataract, but it can be from a very young age, it is different for each person.

There are currently no eye drops or oral medications that can provide a complete cure for cataracts. An effective treatment is surgery. (Also known as a cataract depletion), remove the cloudy natural intraocular lens, and replace the intraocular lens by removing the cataract intraocular lens.  It may be possible to push out or use ultrasound, but no laser light has been used in cataract surgery.

How many years are intraocular lenses used, and how do I care for them?
Nowadays, the technology for manufacturing artificial intraocular lenses has progressed with few complications, already similar in nature.  Does not require any medical attention from the patient.  And that intraocular lens can be used throughout the life of the patient.  There is no need to replace the intraocular lens again.

Does glaucoma always need surgery?  For what purpose is surgery done?
There are different types of glaucoma.  Therefore, there are various treatments such as eye drops to lower pressure in the eye, antihypertensive medication, laser light therapy and surgery.  In the case of surgical treatment, it is not to remove any stone or solid from the eye, but rather to open aqueous drainage from the eye, reducing the pressure in the eye and not harm optic nerve terminal.

Are various cataracts a genetic disease or not?
Pinguecula and pterygium are diseases caused by exposure to irritants and therefore are not hereditary.  Cataract in the elderly is caused by degeneration of the lens of the cornea so that it is a non-hereditary condition.  But in some cases, pediatric or congenital cataracts may be inherited from gene. Glaucoma may be both hereditary and non-hereditary, but in people with a family history of glaucoma, when aged over 40, an eye pressure test with an ophthalmologist should be checked at least once a year for surveillance of Glaucoma that can occur.
